A Stack of Quick Sketches

Some quick sketches that have been piling up: Last September I went to Brooklyn to see Doug Skinner perform: [caption id="attachment_2203" align="aligncenter" width="348"]Doug Skinner at Jalopy, Brooklyn. Unfortunately I couldn't catch the name of their bassist. [caption id="attachment_2204" align="alignleft" width="490"]The Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra, 08.24.14. Stu Fuchs and Sarah Carlisle at Smith College, 09.27.14

Stu Fuchs and Sarah Carlisle performed at Smith College in Northampton, MA in September. Stu also taught a number of workshops for the local ukulele community that weekend. James Hill and Ann Janelle in Sheffield, MA

Sometimes I try to draw in pitch black conditions. Then I forget to look at the drawing for an extra special long time. I drew James Hill and Ann Janelle in the packed town hall of Sheffield, MA in September, 2013. Over a year later, it doesn't look as bad to me. My Work in the Window

My illustration "Downton Sounds" appears in the window of the music store, Downtown Sounds, for the next month or so. It was commissioned by the owner, Joe Blumenthal, and features the staff of Downtown Sounds, all holding ukuleles.
