04.26.09: The Red Hook Ramblers and Howard Fishman

The Red Hook Ramblers
Sunday evening the Red Hook Ramblers played outside on the sidewalk in front of Jalopy. It was a fantastically beautiful night and nobody wanted to be indoors. People gathered on the sidewalk to listen and dance. Somebody in a nearby building blew a horn in between songs, sounding like a whiny animal mating call. An authentic Brooklyn-New Orleans jazz moment.
Howard Fishman played two haunting sets with Nathan Peck on bass and Andrae Murchison playing trombone.
